We have traded our cars in. My Infiniti G35 was approaching 120,000 miles and was showing it's age for the first time in 11 years of ownership. There are so many four door medium sized sedans for sale here that I spent a long time researching. A friend bought one of these, the Hyundai Sonata. She is Italian and said she chose it because it drove like a European car. I have a friend who runs a small auto repair shop and I asked him what he'd recommend. He didn't hesitate in saying either Hyundai or Kia. He said they don't break and have a ton of extras at low cost.
So, on New Year's Eve, I took delivery of this. It has a 2.0 liter, turbocharged four cylinder, direct injected gem of an engine. It makes 264 horsepower, scoots as quickly as my Infiniti, and has returned 27 mpg in all stop and go driving. We made one trip, to Atlanta and back, and it got 33 mpg. It's comfortable and has a 10 year, 100,000 mile warranty on the drivetrain. I am very happy.
I'll show you Janie's new Elantra soon.
