Pine bole and philodendron monstera, Roscoe yard

After testing the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 on a Canon 5D mk II, I decided to see how my other Sigma lens compared. It is a 19mm f/2.8 made for my Micro 4/3 cameras. I put it on a Lumix GX1 and went out with it on a tripod. It is really impressive! It only cost $99.00 on a promotion. Combine that with the GX1, which I got on clearance for $250, and it's about as much bang for my buck as I can imagine.

Spanish moss, roscoe

Playing with my new Sigma 50mm f/1.4 .  It's really sharp and clear. Clear is more important.

Clear and calm

This is the view West from my dock. This morning was almost perfectly calm. Not bad.

Rose, Millbrae, California

We are just back from a week in San Francisco seeing my sister-in-law and her husband. This is on a walk near their house in Millbrae, a lovely town.

This group of ants took an old hubcap and made it their roof.

Friends, another DxO filter

These two were sitting on the beach, lost in conversation, as I started my walk. When I did the file I used the Velvia filter in DxO. Good old Fuji jump off the page color.

Hydrant and shadows, Jacksonville Beach

Now that is a pampered hydrant.

Magnolias, PVIC

I downloaded the free DxO filmpack from their site. It is a set of filters that makes a digital file look like one of the films from our past. This is the one for Tri-X 400 and is really close.

Ponte Vedra Beach

This dog had worn out his owner's arm and patience. I offered to toss him a few but, as you can see, he declined.

First walk since Provence

Very creative anthill around a hubcap! I had my Sunday walk through Jacksonville Beach today and seemed to shoot every picture like a Japanese flag. I used my Canon 5D II for the first time in a while, with that little 40mm f/2.8 lens. I didn't find the lens to be very sharp for a Canon. Must go back and clean it and test it again. It's a great size for the 5D, making it very much more portable for my old back.
