Chairs, Jax Beach

On last Sunday's walk I was seeing a lot of chairs. Most were places that I wouldn't mind stopping and sitting. The one above, not so much. But I'll bet to a dishwasher in the restaurant through that door that that chair is Paradise when he steps out for a smoke on a night in August.

Besides the first one - which I liked most, the photo as well as the chair, might be because the little story you tell about it - there seem to be only plastic chairs in Florida. :-(

Don't be sad. Wooden chairs very quickly give in the the salt air and high humidity and metal chairs start or rust within a year making sitting a messy affair. Plastic seems to last the best.

But what about UV radiation?

But UV radiation destroys plastic!

Good night! ;-)

All it really does is take the sheen off of it. I have plastic chairs that we bought 21 years ago when we moved here and they are still very utile. The wooden ones have all rotted and the metal ones have rusted away.
