Beryl's little gift

Yesterday we got a visit from the second tropical storm of the season, Beryl. The storm formed due east of us and plodded ashore on Sunday night. Luckily she was never at hurricane strength, but she did do some damage. One of our neighbor's trees shed a huge branch over the fence. Janie went out with some hand tools and got to work. I joined her later and got after some of the heavier branches that she couldn't reach or saw at. We both hauled the waste to the curb. As fate would have it, it was yard waste pick up day and, within two hours, all of it, 5 feet high and 20 feet long, was gone. My neighbor had been away and  when he got home he took his chainsaw to the rest and now we have only a bent fence to show that it happened.

You can tell us many things. To my eyes Janie is working and you are watching her work and taking pictures in the meantime.

However, I am glad nothing more serious happened.

I was taking the before picture here. Janie had been doing the preliminary clearing, unbeknownst to me. I put the camera down and went in and got to work. I'll also have you know that I looked up and saw her down the street talking to our two nearest neighbor wives while we men hauled the branches out.

I also do the dark laundry (women have no faith in men and light laundry!), the shopping and the cooking of our big meal of the day. We split the yard work. I am sure your boyfriend does similar support work only because you gnomes are a tough bunch:-}
