OK, rub it in, as we sit here not seeing the top side of freezing for days on end, and anything resembling a fresh vegetable has been jetted in from Chile or Brazil. But from my time there in 2012 I remember Florida farmer's markets being spectacular, matched only by California.
We got the broccoflower at a farmer's market. The lovely thing about living here is the fresh local produce year round. Add to that the fact that anyone with a big pot can grow citrus and herbs and we are in a good place. Now, August and September with the possibility of 60 days in a row at 90f or higher, when the rest of you are cooling off, can offset that a bit , but all in all North Florida has an almost ideal climate for us after 22 years in Vermont.
