Bonnieux discussion

Bonnieux is a small hill town, dominated by a very old church. It has been accused of trying to compete with Gordes as an upscale village. If it's restaurants are the measurement of success, Bonnieux wins hands down. As to the rest, Bonnieux is more open and less perfectly restored and it's wines are better. Go to Cave de Bonnieux on the web and see their lovely selection...all are good.

The best pastry maker in Provence used to live here until he retired. His cakes were superb. His daughter, Christine, opened a tea room/restaurant/bakery in Saignon that you might have seen mentioned on this blog.
These people were having a very intense conversation as we walked by.
