Fence and houses, Jax Beach.
Just off Beach Blvd. is this large field. It is surrounded by rusting chain link fence and does not appear to be for sale. And I love the orange house.
Layers of graffiti and abandoned clothes, service bay at abandoned car dealership.
Every week there is a new layer to this graffiti. This week there was that odd pile of clothes.
This is a complete outfit, from the shoes up, very mysterious. Nobody in sight.
More layers.

Handicap parking sign, Jax Beach
They recently repainted all of the parking lot lines and signs by my gym. I think the painter put the blue background in and then winged it on the wheelchair. Doesn't look like it would roll very well.

Magnolias and coonties, PVIC
Not a particularly noteworthy picture, but the first one from my phone that I have worked on a little. Better than I thought it would be. Awkward to use but fun.

Gull on the beach, for Markus
On his blog, spring2life take2, Markus Spring had a wonderful picture of a decaying bird in Prague. I saw it on the day after I took this picture, as the bird slowly melted into the sand.

Pitching cages, Jax Beach
As long time readers know, I have a weakness for chicken wire. It is so textural and graphic. So, to find an almost endless series of fences....I couldn't resist. If only there were chickens.
Albino alligator, St. Augustine
The alligator farm now has two of these creatures. They are wonderful to see as the lack of pigment makes them very graphic.
Abraham Lincoln life mask.
This was in a display at the Ripley's museum in St. Augustine. This is a metal casting from a mask put on Abraham Lincoln just months before his assassination. Upon seeing it, he is said to have exclaimed "You have caught the animal itself!" He was a big man, those fists were huge.
Anthill in pavement, Jax Beach
Ants love pavers. They have an entrance/exit almost immune from predators, a good roof over their head, very little flooding, temperature moderation and little roads safe from feet. That's my foot seeking top billing, once again.

Downtown Jacksonville
My Kirk Tuck walk of the week. I hardly ever go to the downtown as there isn't much of one in Jacksonville. When you are a city of under a million with a land area greater than Los Angeles and surrounded by lovely beaches and open land there is no real urge to huddle up in the center. Therefore Jacksonville's core is mostly business buildings and few residential buildings. We were in town to go the the museum of science and history, MOSH, with our granddaughter. We all had a great time and the drove 15 miles to have lunch at the beaches.
Gargoyle and cat.
This little gargoyle, without wings due to a clumsy owner, has a strange attraction to cats. A lizard finally got her attention.
Future puttanesca.
These were all chopped and ready to make into a wonderful Puttanesca sauce that was served over pasta.
Kate at Delia's graduation.
This is my daughter Kate. Her daughter, Delia, was graduating from 5th grade. As you can see, she is the one of my three children who inherited the photography gene. She specializes in photographing bluegrass musicians and is very good at it.
