De Sade's castle had fallen into disrepair. I'm sure the locals of the time weren't too pleased with his proclivities.Pierre Cardin has been restoring the castle, slowly, hoping to make Lacoste the St. Tropez of culture in France. He staged a production of Casanove in the quarry here last Bastille Day.
